This article will go over everything you need to know about the Malahat SkyWalk, and my review of whether or not it is worth a visit.

The Malahat Skywalk

The Malahat SkyWalk is the Victoria area’s newest attraction. I recently was able to visit for the first time, so I’ve put together this guide to answer all of your questions about the SkyWalk.

What is the Malahat SkyWalk?

The Malahat SkyWalk is a tall spiral ramp structure overlooking the ocean and Saanich Penninsula. Visitors can walk to the top of the Skywalk, where there are many spots to enjoy the view, as well as a slide that goes back down to the bottom. If you are travelling with kids, note that they need to be at least five years old and 42 inches tall to go on the slide. There is also a net at the top that you can walk out on and see the ground below you (don’t worry, it’s very sturdy).

How far is the Malahat SkyWalk from Victoria?

The Malahat Skywalk is about a 30 minute drive from downtown Victoria. Unfortunately, it not accessible by public transit, so you will need a car to get there. If you are coming from the mainland, the Malahat SkyWalk is about an hour drive from Swartz Bay ferry terminal.

How much does the Malahat SkyWalk cost?

Tickets for the SkyWalk cost $36.95 for adults and $22.95 for children. There are also annual passes available.

Is the Malahat SkyWalk worth it?

The Malahat Skywalk offers an absolutely stunning view of the surrounding area and I did enjoy my visit. However, my honest review is that it’s pretty overpriced for what it is. If you are new to the area, I think it is worth it to go once, as you likely be amazed by the views. And, if you’re travelling with kids, they will probably enjoy the nets and the slide. I would definitely recommend waiting for a day with good weather to visit– if it is foggy or rainy and the view is obstructed, you will basically just be paying to walk up a ramp and go down a slide.

Another thing to consider is that it is also pretty out of the way. If you are staying in Victoria and only have a day or two, a trip to the SkyWalk might take up too much of your time. But if you have a few days or more in the area, I think you could make time for the Skywalk without missing out on other important attractions.

I hope this guide answered any questions you had about visiting the SkyWalk. If I missed anything, feel free to leave a comment below. Happy travelling!
