Last November, I went to Argentina for the first time. I spent most of the month there, in various cities, and I loved it! The weather was beautiful, the Jacaranda trees were in full bloom, and it wasn’t too crowded. The perfect conditions for an awesome trip! In my opinion, November is a great time to travel to Argentina, so I decided to put together this article to share everything I learned about visiting Argentina in November.
Weather in Argentina in November
One of the most obvious questions you might have is- what is the weather like in November? Well, Argentina is a very large country, so there isn’t one simple answer to that. The weather will depend heavily on where within Argentina you go. However, November is spring time in Argentina, so you can expect generally warmer temperatures.
I stayed in Buenos Aires for 3 weeks in November, and most days it got up to around 20-25°C. Nice and warm, but not too hot to be walking around and exploring! I also visited a few places further north- Salta, and Iguazu Falls (a very popular spot for tourists to visit). These cities were warmer! Around 30°C.
In my opinion, the spring weather makes November an ideal time to visit Argentina because it is pleasantly warm, but you avoid the hotter temperatures and humidity of the summer that could make exploring unpleasant.
Related to the spring weather, another great reason to visit in November is that the Jacaranda trees will be in bloom. I had never seen this type of tree before, and I was stunned by its amazing purple blossoms all over the city of Buenos Aires.
Crowds in Argentina in November
Given that November is spring in Argentina, is it considered the shoulder season for tourism- the busiest months are January and February. That makes November a great time to visit Argentina because many popular spots will be way less crowded than if you visit in the summer. I didn’t find Buenos Aires busy with tourism in November- I had no issue booking most activities the day of or day before, and I didn’t find any of the popular landmarks or attractions too crowded. Iguazu Falls was still quite crowded, but it was manageable! I can only imagine that such a popular place would be extremely busy during peak tourist season.
Travelling in the shoulder season also generally means that things like flights and hotels will cost a little less, which is always a bonus!
So there you have it- my info about November in Argentina. I hope this guide is helpful, and that you have an amazing trip to Argentina if you end up going!
