This blog post contains what I think is a perfect itinerary for 2 days in Victoria BC.
Victoria BC is a charming city. With its beautiful beaches, plethora of amazing shops and restaurants, and historical sights, you won’t run out of things to do. It is relatively small, so 2 days in Victoria is enough to get a pretty good overview of the city. I’ve put together what I think is a perfect itinerary for 2 days in Victoria BC.
2 Days in Victoria BC: Day 1
Stop 1: Brunch
Victoria is known for its many amazing brunch spots. There’s no better way to start your day than with some delicious breakfast foods. If you’re in the downtown area, I would recommend Jam, Blue Fox Cafe, or Shine Cafe. They will all be busy on the weekend, so make sure you go early!
Stop 2: Walk at Dallas Road
After visiting one of Victoria’s many brunch spots, you may be in need of a walk! The best spot in Victoria to go for a walk is along Dallas Road, which has a beautiful path along the ocean. Start near the Ogden Point breakwater, and maybe walk out along the breakwater if you feel like it! Ogden Point is only about a 5-10 minute drive from Victoria’s downtown core.
Stop 3: Go Whale Watching or Visit the BC Museum
Your third stop will depend on the time of year. If you happen to be in Victoria during the summer months, I would highly recommend doing a whale watching tour! The best time for whale watching in Victoria is from May to September. There are a few companies that run whale watching tours, but I would recommend Eagle Wing. Their tours depart right from the Inner Harbour, and last 4 hours. Make sure you book in advance!
If it’s not whale watching season, or you’re looking for a more affordable activity, I would recommend visiting the Royal BC Museum! Located right by the Inner Harbour, this museum will give a perfect overview of the history of the area, as well as the local plant and animal life. You’ll want to spend about 2 hours here.
Stop 4: Explore the Harbour and Enjoy Dinner With a View
If you go whale watching, you’ll probably be ready for dinner by the time you get back. If you went to the museum, you may have some extra time to wander around the harbour area. Either way, have dinner at one of the restaurants on the harbour, and enjoy the view. I would recommend Finn’s, Steamship Grill, or Boom and Batten!

Stop 5: Go on a Ghostly Walking Tour
This activity is a bonus option if you still have energy after your long day of exploring. Ghostly walking tours take you on an evening tour of downtown, pointing out the location of famous hauntings. This is such a unique way to learn more about the history of the city while also having a fun, spooky, adventure.
2 Days in Victoria BC: Day 2
Stop 1: Butchart Gardens
Butchart Gardens is a must-see when visiting Victoria, especially if you are visiting in the summer, or near Christmas. In my opinion, those are the times that the gardens look their best! Butchart gardens is a bit out of the city- about a 30 minute drive from downtown. But it is worth it! You’ll want to plan to spend at least 2 hours here.
Stop 2: Afternoon Tea
After you visit the gardens, head back downtown for afternoon tea. Victoria BC is known for its British influence. One way in particular that that influence shows is Victoria’s many spots for a nice afternoon tea. The best tea is at the Empress hotel. Another great option in the downtown area is Pendray Inn and Tea House.
Stop 3: Fisherman’s Wharf
After your afternoon tea, I would recommend heading to Fisherman’s Wharf. This adorable area is a quick 5 minute drive from Victoria’s downtown core. Or, take the harbour ferry there! Fisherman’s Wharf is a great place to see sea lions, get ice cream, and enjoy the view!
Stop 4: Get Fish and Chips
Eating fish and chips is an essential activity for your trip to Victoria, and the perfect dinner for your last night in the city. I would recommend stopping at Barb’s Fish and Chips before you leave Fisherman’s wharf. Enjoy your fish and chips while you take in the amazing view!
If you follow this itinerary, I think you will have a perfect 2 days in Victoria BC. While there is so much more that you could do, this will give you the best overview of the city that you can get in a weekend!
